About

From the truck cab to AI. Every step real.

Most AI initiatives in industry get stuck in strategy and never reach the floor. I help leaders in transport, logistics, and manufacturing find where AI makes a measurable difference in their operations, and get there.

I started my career as a truck driver and CNC machinist. That experience shaped everything that came after. I founded LUP Technologies and built LUPNUMBER, a safety platform that trained over a million drivers and reduced accident risk by 50–63% at companies like Scania, SCA, and SSAB.

After the startup years, I led digitalization projects for the City of Stockholm and Sveriges Riksdag (security class 2), then moved to Volvo Group for enterprise product development and built an ISO 27001 information security management system from scratch.

Now I combine that operational experience with daily AI practice. I use AI to build, not just to advise. I know what it can do and where it falls short. That makes me useful for leaders who want answers, not hype.

Jakob Sörensen

I have driven the truck, built the system, and explained why it worked or why it did not. Now I do the same with AI.

The journey

Not a straight line. Each chapter shaped the next.

  1. 2003–2007

    The starting point

Truck driver and CNC machinist. I learned how systems actually work by being inside them. On the factory floor and behind the wheel.

  2. 2008–2013

    Two lenses

Dual Master’s degrees at KTH (engineering) and Stockholm University (sociology). I wanted to understand both the technical structure and the people inside it.

  3. 2013–2018

    Building something real

Founded LUP Technologies. Built LUPNUMBER from a problem I had experienced firsthand. Trained over a million drivers. Reduced accident risk by 50–63%. That work saved lives.

  4. 2018–2024

    Three worlds

Digitalization consulting for the City of Stockholm and the Swedish Parliament. Then enterprise product development at Volvo Group. Startup, public sector, large corporation. Three entirely different ways to watch digitalization succeed and fail.

  5. 2025–

    On my own terms

Independent AI advisor for industrial operations. I help leaders in transport, logistics, and manufacturing find where AI makes a measurable difference, and get there. Still building LobeDrive on the side.
